Christopher C. Cornelius Jr.
IRVINGTON - Christopher C. Cornelius Jr., who had worked as a pipefitter in the shipbuilding industry, died Wednesday at his home. He was 87. The Blount County native was a resident of Irvington. Survivors include his wife, Bernadette Davis Cornelius; three children, Barbara Cornelius of Orange Beach, Christopher C. Cornelius III of Irvington, and Gale Deas of Grand Bay; two brothers, Alton Beck Cornelius of Oneonta, Ala., and Jay Cornelius of Cleveland, Ohio; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Visitation will be at noon today at Serenity Funeral Home, followed by graveside services at 2 p.m. in Serenity Memorial Gardens.
