Lawrence Journal World-Thurs. May 21, 1959 "Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Jane Lavin, 97, of Stull will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday at St John's Catholic Church. Msgr. George Towle will be in charge of the services. Mrs. Lavin, a lifelong resident of the stull area, was born March 26, 1862. She died Wednesday afternoon at the Douglas County Convalescent home. The Rosary will be recited at 8:00 p.m. today at St. John's with Msgr. Towle in charge. Friends may call at Rumsey Funeral Home until 5:00 p.m. today. Burial will be in the Big Springs Catholic cemetery. Survivors include one son, Francis Lavin of Stull, one grandson, John Lavin, LaPorte City, Iowa and one sister, Mrs Winifred Bidinger of Stull."
