William C. Atkinson passed away on June 3, 2009 at North Canyon Care Center in Bountiful, Utah.


Born February 24, 1923 in Murray, Utah to William C. And Jeannette Park Atkinson.


He went to Granite High School. He was in the Army Air Force from December 1942 to January 1946. He served in the South Pacific, (New Guinea, Okinawa, New Hyberties, New Caldonia).


Married Doris Johnson on May 26, 1951. Bill worked at Hill Air Force Base as a sheet metal worker, he retired in January 1985 after 42 1/2 years.


Bill delivered meals on wheels and was a bingo caller at the Golden Years Center in Bountiful. He liked sports, especially University of Utah basketball, making ceramics, and traveling.


He is survived by his wife Doris, brothers Frederick R. Atkinson, Los Angeles, Richard P. (Judy) Atkinson, Salt Lake City, sister-in-law JoAnn Atkinson, West Valley City, brother-in-law, Derald Johnson, Minnesota, sister-in-law Mae Weigers, Minnesota, and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents, two sisters, and three brothers.


Graveside Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 6, 2009 at Elysian Burial Gardens, 1075 East College Street (4580 South), Murray. A visitation will be held from 12:30-1:30 p.m. prior to the Graveside Services at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main Street, Bountiful.
Interment-Elysian Burial Gardens.
