Born in Scrubgrass Township, Venango County, Pennsylvania, the son of David Harper and Mary Davidson McQuiston. On November 12, 1863, he married Sarah Ann Latchaw, daughter of Henry John and Eve Shelley Latchaw. Robert and Sarah were the parents of Anna Elizabeth (Hoffman), Isolina (Clark), Cyrus Calvin, Charles, Birdie May and Genevera McQuiston.

Robert M'Quiston Dead

Had Been a Resident of Kansas for Thirty Years

Robert McQuiston, 86, a resident of Kansas for thirty years, died at the home of his son, Charles, at La Junta, Col., Sunday.

Mr. McQuiston was born in Oil City, Pa., June 15, 1842, and came to Kansas with his family in 1885. He lived in Topeka until a few years ago when he went to stay with his son at La Junta. He was a veteran of the Civil War and a member of G.A.R., Lincoln Post No. 1, of Topeka.

He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. George Hoffman, Berryton; two sons, Charles, of La Junta, and Cyrus, of Yates Center; twelve grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

The body will be brought here for burial. Funeral services will be held from Penwell's chapel Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Burial will be in Lynn Creek cemetery.
