"Irving Judson died very suddenly Saturday morning at his home at the head of Otsego Lake. He was the gate-keeper at 'Tin Top,' the entrance to the property of George Hyde Clarke on the road on the east side of Otsego Lake. Saturday an automobile approached the gate and signalled. A laborer in the fields nearby saw that no one attended the gate and upon investigation Mr. Judson was found dead sitting in his chair on the porch of his home. Mrs. Judson was at the Ethical Culture camp which is located in that neighborhood where she is employed. Mr. Judson, who was known to have suffered with heart trouble, had been working in the potato field and the exertion proved too great for the weakened member. The deceased was the youngest and next to the last of thirteen children born to Stephen and Amanda Jones Judson and his birth took place at Hubble Hollow April 6, 1855. In 1847(sic) he married Miss Edna Vickers. Their only son died in 1922. Surviving are six grandchildren and one brother, David Judson, of Roseboom ... Interment was made in the cemetery at Middlefield Center." ["The Otsego Farmer & Republican" (Cooperstown, NY), Fri., July 15, 1927, Page Three]
