AMBER A. BATTIN, 94, Forksville RR 1 passed away December 1, 1993. Born on November 14, 1899 in Elkland Township, Sullivan County she was the daughter of the late Philip and Irene Letts Baumunk. She had been a lifetime resident of Elkland Township. Mrs. Battin was the widow of the late Harold L. Battin, who preceded her in death in 1982. She was a member of the Lincoln Falls Wesleyan Church. In her early years, she was a member of various church organizations and the Sullivan County Extension Service. One of the joys in her later years was searching the genealogy of her family and corresponding with her relatives in Germany. She left surviving tow sons; Judson Battin, Dushore and Laverne Battin, Baltimore, MD; one brother, Lawrence Baumunk, Shunk; two sisters, Gleyna Vogt, Forksville RR 1 and Phyllis Molyneux, Lincoln Falls, PA; 10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great-grandchildren. In addition, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Alice Marie Parrish in 1975 and one brother, Arthur Baumunk in 1991. Arrangements were under the direction of the Russell P. McHenry Funeral Home, Dushore. The funeral service was held December 4 in the Lincoln Falls Wesleyan Church with the Rev. Robert Broome, her pastor officiating. Interment was in Elkland Friends Cemetery, Forksville. The family requests memorial donations be made to the Guthrie Hospice, RR 4, Box 60A, Towanda, PA. Canton Independent Sentinel
