Noble Warren DeMunn and his wife Sarah were both fairly well known and distiquished educators durring the mid to late 1800's in Rhode Island & the New England region in general.

Noble, one of 4 DeMunn siblings born to John DeMunn and Clarissa (Goodwill, Tisdale). Clarissa was first married to William C Tisdale and had 7 children by that marriage and became widowed, later marrying John. And so When the DeMunn boys arrived they already had seven half brothers and sisters.

After becoming an educated man Noble DeMunn married Sarah Maria Sumner from Rhode Island. The couple remained in Providence for the rest of their lives but a son who they named Sumner Chaphin DeMunn was born to the them in 1857 in New Jersey. After his arrival the couple had 2 or possibly 3 more children who did not survive infancy.

Noble was a Teacher and Principal at a few different schools and along with a few others wrote many pamplets which contributed to the training of more teachers durring the early pioneering eduction period of our country.

The folowing are among some of the works that he co-authored: ''Manual of Education - A Brief History Of The - Rhode Island Institute Of Instruction''. Providence Press Company Printers, 1874. This book mentions N.W. DeMunn several times as an educator, author and editor of teachers journals from 1860 onward and it goes on to tell of lectures and discussions by Noble DeMunn.

He wrote many articles for: ''The Rhode Island Schoolmaster'', and became one of its editors. It was a monthly journal and a teachers publication.
