Nancy Owens Cecil, mother of Ethel

The four daughters of Bill Riley and Nancy Owens Cecil that lived to become mature ladies. Ethel was the oldest and Hazel the youngest. Lillie was a couple years older than Cordelia (Cordie) as she was known. Cordie was my mother.

The two sons that became adults died fairly young. They were Loy at 19 and Willie at 26. Loy died from a train accident and Willie died the day after his 26th birthday, due to a car wreck.

He had just bought a new car and driving it home from Knoxville, TN to Oneida, TN and wrecked and killed him self and his wife Emily was injured.

All the sisters have passed on now. Lillie Cecil Price was the one that lived the longest, she passed away February 25, 2006.

Lillie M. Price

Lillie Marie Price, 99, formerly of Junction City, died Saturday at Casey County Hospital.
Born July 30, 1906, in Scott County, Tenn., she was a daughter of the late William and Nancy Owens Cecil. She was a homemaker, a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church and the widow of Arnold Price.
Survivors include a son, Kenneth Price of Danville; a daughter, Louise Phillips of Danville; nine grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Hubert Price; and a daughter, Helen Flannery.
Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home by the Rev. Michael Spurr. Burial will be in Junction City Cemetery.
Visitation is 6-8 p.m. today.

1938-2007

Kenneth Price, 68, of Fox Chase Drive, Junction City, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2007, at his residence.
Born Thursday, July 21, 1938, in Perry County, Ky., he was a son of the late Arnold and Lillie Cecil Price. He was a concrete truck driver for Concrete Materials Co. of Danville.
He is survived by his dear wife, Thelma Russell Price, whom he wed Oct. 18, 1961; a son, Dr. Kenneth Ray (Kimberly) Price of Danville; daughters, Connie Marie (Mickey) Adams of Danville and Dianna Jo (Rocky) Arnold of Perryville; a sister, Louise Phillips of Danville; grandsons, Michael Scott Adams, Jacob Clay Arnold, and Parker Hudson Price; and granddaughters, Amber Marie Adams, Candice Rockelle Arnold, and Samantha Kathleen Price.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Hubert Price, and his sister, Helen Price Flannery.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 26, 2007, at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home with Paul McFarland and Mike Spurr officiating. Burial will follow in Junction City Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Dale Pittman, Russell Rose, Jimmy Hines, Gary Simmons, Carl Short and Mark Cox. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren.
Visitation is 6-9 p.m. today.
Memorial contributions may be made to Heritage Hospice or the Shelby City Baptist Church.
