Daughter of Jacob and Elizabeth Jemima ‘Henson' Cross. Ella Cross married John W. Adams on March 3, 1876 in Macon County, Illinois. John W. Adams died before 1902. John and Ella had 6 children, 4 living by the 1910 census and Ella was a widow living with Trusten and Sarah Adams. Children are Joseph, Jacob, Quincy, James, Ada and Anna.

The funeral of Mrs. Ella Adams was held at the Cumberland Presbyterian church Monday forenoon at 11 o'clock. The services were conducted by Rev. J. W. McDonald. There was a large attendance. The music was furnished by Miss Jeannette Trautman, Miss Lucile Davis and J. P. Torrey. The pall bearers were Burr Rinehart, John Kirkland, B. D. Adams, Edgar Adams, Charles Adams and Albert Foster. The interment was at Wycles cemetery.
