Fairport Dies
Of Gun Wounds

Glen Brewer, 69, a resident of Fairport for 46 years died of gunshot wounds at his home at Fairport.

County Coroner William Catalona pronounced his death a suicide, death resulting from gunshot wounds
in the abdomen.

The son of Steven and Nancy Elizabeth Acey Brewer, he was born 8 April 1882 in
Illinois City Illinois. His wife is the former Kate Waldon. Mr. Brewer had been employed as a section laborer on the Rock Island railroad.

Surviving are his wife, living at Mt. Pleasant, Ia.; one son, Alva Lee Griffin of Sigourney; one stepson, Fred Bahr of Muscatine; three daughters, Mrs. Effie Rossi of Starks, Neb., Miss Dicie Brewer of Rockwell City, Ia,, and Mrs. Ellen McDaniels of Marengo Ia., two sisters, Mrs. Nuffie Cramer of Fairport and Mrs. Minnie Bird of Lawrenceville Ill.; and 13 grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents, first wife, two sons, one daughter, two brothers and one sister.

The body has been taken to the Fairbanks Home for Funerals and friends may call there after 10 a.m. Thursday.

Funeral services have been scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at the Fairbanks Chapel. Burial
will be in the Fairport Cemetery in Fairport Iowa.

It was believed Glen was murdered instead of suicide.
