Tad is the oldest of 14 children born to Thomas Benton Limbocker and Caroline Cordelia Sigafoos Limbocker. As a toddler in 1870, his parents relocated to Neosho County, KS, where Tad spent the rest of his life. Tad married Zoe Kennerley Jan. 29, 1896. They had one child, Thomas Benton Limbocker.
