HILL CITY, Kan. -- Maryan R. Casjens, 81, died Monday (May 25, 2009) at Graham County Hospital in Hill City.

She was born Feb. 9, 1928, in Madison, S.D., to Rudolph and Anna (Ruemann) Bothern.

On Dec. 20, 1947, she married Dr. Clifford Curtis Casjens PHD., in Coleman, S.D. She worked as a social worker and a homemaker. She was formerly of Lincoln.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rudolph and Anna Bothern; husband, Clifford on Jan. 15, 1971; two sisters; and five brothers.

Survivors include her daughters, Terry Davignon of Hill City and Merry Koetter of McCook; brothers, Donald Bothern of Anderson, S.C., and Harry Bothern of Florida; special friend, Robert Lybarger of Lincoln; and one grandchild.

Funeral services will be Friday, 10:30 a.m., at Stinemetz Funeral Home in Hill City with the Rev. Shelby Cade officiating. Burial will be in the Morlan Township Cemetery in rural Palco, Kan.

Visitation is today until 8 p.m., at the funeral home and Friday from 9 a.m., until time of services.

Memorials may be given to the Sealye House.
