Frederick E. Lang
Sylvia – Word has reached here of the death of Frederick E. Lang, 86, Friday morning at Trinidad, Colo.
He was born Aug. 5, 1873 at Kohoka, Mo., and spent most of his life in the Sylvia community. He had been Reno County Clerk and cashier of the Citizen's State Bank of Sylvia and later was a farmer. He retired 11 years ago. He was a member of the Nazarene Church. His wife, Katie, died in 1948.
Survivors include three sons, Ralph, Sylvia; Glen, Boise, Idaho; Rush, Wichita; two daughters, Mrs. A.F. Switzer, Trinidad, Colo.; Mrs. Alan B. Smith, Alva, Okla.; three brothers, Ed, Fresno, Calif.; Albert and William, both of Hutchinson; two sisters, Mrs. Amelia Blaine, Hutchinson; Mrs. Herman [Laura] Moeckel, Sylvia; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
