Samuel Silas was the ninth child born to John Lewis Warner and Amelia Charity Wells.
He married Mary Isabelle 'Belle' Martin, 9 Oct 1878, Tyler Co., West Virginia.

By 1900 census, family living in Mead, Belmont, Ohio, had 8 children. He was a farmer.
