Findley Walter John at 317 Cleveland St., West Kittanning, was pronounced dead when he was taken to Armstrong County Memorial Hospital about 8:15 o'clock this morning. He was taken to the hospital after he was stricken with a heart attack while driving up West Kittanning Hill.
He was age 67 years, having been born Feb. 16, 1890 in Washington Township, a son of Adam and Eleanor (Lytle) John.
He spent his entire life in the local area. Since 1917 he was a dealer in ice and coal.
Mr. John was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Kittanning lodge of Elks.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Alice H. John; two sons, Walter R. of West Kittanning, and Ralph C. of Kittanning MR 10; three daughters, Mrs. Viola Goldstrom of Vandergrift; Miss Bertha A. John of West Kittanning and Mrs. Ruth McGinley of Harrisburg; and a step-daughter, Mrs. Mary Stewart Goodwin of Damaseus, Ohio.
Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Lloyd Smith and Mrs. W. H. Swigert, both of West Kittanning.
Friends will be recieved at the Bauer funeral home after 7 o'clock tonight. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Friday in charge of his pastor, Rev. Ralph Newell.
Burial will be in Lawn Haven Burial Estates.
