The body of Thomas Alvey, 78 years old, of Athertonville, died at St. Joseph's Infirmary, Louisville, was taken to New Haven for burial. His wife, Mrs. Mary B. Alvey, and 2 sons survive.

ATHERTONVILLE LETTER
The death angel visited our town the past week and took home Mr. Tom Alvey, age 79 years.

An obituary was in The Herald News (Larue County) Thursday, 7-02-1931; Page 6.
Mr. Tom Alvey, who was reported quite sick at our last writing, grew worse and was taken to Louisville, where one of his feet was amputated. But he grew rapidly worse and on last Thursday answered the final summons. His remains were brought to New Haven Friday and interred in the Catholic cemetery. He leaves a son and daughter by a previous marriage; a wife and two sons to mourn his death. Mr. Alvey had lived here for years, and was highly esteemed by all who knew him. The writer extends sympathy to the sorrowing loved ones.
