Thomas Jefferson Benefield was the son of Benjamin Jefferson "B.J." Benefield and Harriet Adelaide Barry Benefield. He married Lula Stringfellow on January 16, 1908 in Jefferson, Marion Co., Texas. Jeff and Lula did not have any children. Jeff was the a Rural Mail Carrier for Marion Co., Texas. He was killed in a car wreck on HWY 59 going to Marshall, TX.

Ted also worked for Perkins Brothers Dry Goods store in Jefferson, Tx.
