Sublimity -- William P. Schotthoefer, 80, 360 Church St., died Tuesday at a local nursing home.

Born in Reynolds, N.D., he spent much of his life in Salem. He was a retired logger and member of the Catholic Church.

Survivors include daughters Patricia Schotthoefer, Los Angeles, Calif., Katherine Hackelman, Eugene; brother Joe, Detroit, Mich., Fred, Peoria, Ill., Richard, Stayton; sisters Gertude Jonientz, Seattle, Wash., Elizabeth Schotthoefer, Frances Garner, both Los Angeles, Calif., Theresa Saalfeld, Mill City, Katherine Stark, Sister Barbara Maria S.N.J.M., both Salem, Barbara Minden, Stayton, Constance Osman, San Diego, Calif., four grandchildren.

Rosary will be 8 p.m. Thursday and mass 11 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Church, Stayton. Interment will be in St. Barbara Cemetery, Salem, under direction of Weddle mortuary, Stayton. The family suggests contributions to Kidney Association of Oregon
