James, 90 years of age, passed away on March 14, 2015. He was born on June 14, 1924 in Sabine Parish. James and Iva, his loving wife of 64 years, made their home and raised their family in Robeline, Louisiana. Upon his death, he was residing in Natchitoches, Louisiana.

James was a loving and caring father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was strong-willed, hard-working, and determined, traits that he passed down to his family. James worked at and retired from Tennessee Gas Pipeline Co. after 36 years of service. James' love for his family was only surpassed by the love he had for God and his country. He was a long-time member of Holly Grove Church of the Nazarene of Robeline, Louisiana. Until his illness kept him away, James faithfully attended Emmanuel Baptist Church in Natchitoches, Louisiana. He enjoyed the fellowship of other believers and never passed up an opportunity to share how God had worked in his life. James served in the Army during World War II as a Tech 5. He was a member of the American Legion and the Veteran of Foreign Wars of Natchitoches.

Left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Loree G. Elkins and her husband Thomas of Natchitoches, LA; daughter-in-law Jean Geter of Keithville, LA; and son-in-law Kenneth James of Natchitoches, LA; grand-children, David Elkins and wife Deanna of Robeline, LA; Melissa G.
