Dixie was born on June 11, 1933, to Albert Milton Howard and Ruby Ophelia Hock outside of Plains, TX,�and passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2009, at the Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, TX.�She lived and worked in Roswell, NM, as a�CNA for many years. She found joy in her grandchildren which were the light of her life. She always looked forward to making the yearly trips to the Albuquerque fair with her younger brother, Jake Howard, and wife, Maurine, and her sisters, Eloise Creighton and Ernestine Helms.
�She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother James Howard and grandson, Tony Skipworth, Jr.
�She is survived by her three children, Mike Skipworth of Phoenix, AZ, Jackie Taylor of Roswell, NM, and Tony Skipworth of San Antonio, TX; as well as six grandchildren, Christopher DeRullieux�of Phoenix, AZ, Timmy Taylor, Jr., Tobi Taylor, and Tana Taylor of Roswell, NM, and Robert Skipworth�and Pam Sandifer�of San Antonio, TX.�
�In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kenna Cemetery fund.
�Arrangements are under the direction of Wheeler Mortuary of Portales-575-356-4455.
