Vivian Kelley Massie, 80, of Roanoke, went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 15, 2009. She was born on Saturday, September 22, 1928, to the late Dennis Austin Kelley and Ruby Elizabeth Kelley in Troutville. She was a widow of Orville Nelson Massie. She was retired from Bedford County Memorial Hospital, and a former member of Timber Ridge Baptist Church in Bedford. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Dianne and John Leftwich, Sharon and Robert Wood, both of Roanoke; four sons and daughters-in-law, Richard Massie and fiancee' Victoria Salmon, Blue Ridge, O.J. "Chip" and Debbie Massie, Kelly and Cindy Massie, of Bedford, Barry and Belinda Massie, of Danville; 15 grandchildren; 7 greatgrandchildren; and 2 greatgreatgrandchildren; one sister, Ethel K. Altice and her husband, Perry (Buddy), of Daleville; a brother, Richard R. Kelley, of Alexandria Va.; a brother-in-law, Roy Massie, of Maitland, Fla., and brother-in-law, Pete Cook and wife, Deany, of Roanoke; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, May 19, 2009, at 11 a.m. from the Updike Funeral Chapel, Bedford with her nephew, Dr. A. Wayne Cook officiating. Interment will follow in Timber Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery.
