Leo Martin Blickhan, age 82, of 1067 Mace Road, Lake Ozark, MO, formerly of Quincy, died on Monday, April 20, 2009 in the V.A. Clinic in Columbia, MO. He was born on February 20, 1927 in Monroe City, MO. He was a son of Matthew and Clara (Wolf) Blickhan. Leo married Fleta Starman on April 8, 1961 in St. John‘s Catholic Church in Quincy. She preceded him in death on October 11, 1998. He attended St. Stephen's Grade School in Indian Creek, MO. He served four years in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Leo was employed at Electric Wheel Division of Firestone. After retiring from there, he farmed for many years in the Ewing area before moving to Lake of the Ozarks. He was employed for a number of years with Lee Mace's Ozark Opry at the Lake. Leo was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. He was active with the church and helped with maintenance at Queen of Peace Church in Ewing. He was a member of Holy Name Society, and he was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and American Legion Post 37 in Quincy, IL. Survivors include: TWO BROTHERS: Anthony "Tony" Blickhan and his wife Lucille, and Robert "Bob" Blickhan and his wife Ginny all of Quincy; ONE SISTER: Martha Koetters of Quincy; Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Leo was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Fleta, three brothers, Delbert, Joseph, and Howard Blickhan, and four sisters, Mary Mock, Elsie Hildebrand, Hilda Blickhan, and a sister in infancy. Memorial services will be held on Friday, April 24, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis Catholic Church. Inurnment will be in Calvary Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be at the time of the services at the church. Memorials are suggested to Knights of Columbus T.V. Mass, Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, or St. Francis School or Church.
