1917-2007
Westfield-James L. Gonyea, 90, of Westfield, died Tuesday Oct. 02, 2007 at a local nursing home. He was born in Piercefield, NY on May 6, 1917 son of the late James and Georgianna (Houle) Gonyea. He moved to Ludlow in 1927, to Springfield in 1948 and Southwick in 1959. James was a self employed contractor. He loved boating and water skiing on Congamond Lake in Southwick. He was the widower of Yvonne (Gagne) Gonyea, who died in 2004. James leaves a son Richard J. Gonyea of East Windsor, CT, a daughter Susan Miemiec of Westfield and four grandchildren. he also leaves a brother Leonard Gonyea and a sister Gladys Polypow both of Ludlow. The funeral will be Friday evening at 5:50 pm at the Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad St., Westfield. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be Friday from 5-8 p.m.
