Esther Shannon Arney, 85, died Saturday at Regency Place. She retired in 1980 as a piano teacher after 20 years, and directed the local chapter of the Sweet Adelines for about 15 years. Surviving are a daughter, Maryellen M. Hays of Fort Wayne; a son Donald P. of Miami; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Her husband Daniel, died in 1986 and a daughter Kathleen, died in 1947. Services at 11 a.m. Saturday at Plymouth Congregational Church, 501 W. Berry St., with calling one hour before the services at the church. Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Memorials to the church's choir. Arrangements by Klaehn, Fahl and Melton Funeral Home Wayne Street Chapel, 420 W. Wayne St.

SHANNON REUNION
The reunion of the Shannon family was held Sunday, August 11, at Mahew's grove. Games were played and patriotic songs sung and two addresses were given by Mrs. Victoria Shirey and Samuel Shannon. Those present included: Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Shannon and children, Mary, Harry and Alton; Mrs. Victoria Shirey, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Mayhew, Preston Shannon, Albin Johnson, Charles Shirey, David Wright, Alvin Shirey, Charles Nelson, Ward Hall, Boyd Shannon, William Shannon, William Wedler, Mrs. Maria Johnson, the Misses Esther Shannon, Thelma Johnson, MILDRED RUTH SHANNON (6), Violet and Jessie Shirey, Mildred Wright, Leda Arden and Elenor Washburn, Samuel and Harold Shannon, Harry and George Shirey, Ward, Jr., Jo and Orville Hall, Donald Washburn and Ralph Vance.
