MARYELLEN (ARNEY) HAYS, 82, died Saturday, July 1, 2017 at Lutheran Life Villages in Kendallville following an extended illness. Maryellen was the elder daughter of the late Daniel and Esther (Shannon) Arney.
Maryellen is survived by her husband, Ronald (Ron) E. Hays, Jr.; children, Robin (Ralph) Hays-Ames and Heather (Dave) Hays-Deckard; brother, Donald Arney of Florida; grandchildren, Anthony (Lisa) Morgan, Samantha Ames and Colton Ames; step-grandchildren, Jennifer (Scott) Howell, Mick (Heather) Ames and Eric (Andrea) Ames; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Ronell Denise Hays; sister, Katherine Arney; and her beloved grandparents, Preston and Jennie Fern Shannon.
A Celebration of Life service is 2 p.m. Sunday, July 30, 2017 at Plymouth Congregational UCC, 501 W. Berry Street, Fort Wayne, Ind., with calling starting at 1 p.m. Reception following the service. All are welcome to attend the reception.
