Maryellen is survived by her husband, Ronald (Ron) E. Hays, Jr.; children, Robin (Ralph) Hays-Ames and Heather (Dave) Hays-Deckard; brother, Donald Arney of Florida; grandchildren, Anthony (Lisa) Morgan, Samantha Ames and Colton Ames; step-grandchildren, Jennifer (Scott) Howell, Mick (Heather) Ames and Eric (Andrea) Ames; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Ronell Denise Hays; sister, Katherine Arney; and her beloved grandparents, Preston and Jennie Fern Shannon.
A Celebration of Life service is 2 p.m. Sunday, July 30, 2017 at Plymouth Congregational UCC, 501 W. Berry Street, Fort Wayne, Ind., with calling starting at 1 p.m. Reception following the service. All are welcome to attend the reception.
