LYMAN WHITCOMB DEAD
Lyman Whitcomb, an old time resident of Lucas county, died at the Soldiers' Home at Leavenworth, Kansas, Thursday, May 7th, 1914: A few months ago he fell and broke his leg, and never recovered from the effects of it. His wife died in Pleasant township several years ago and his children are married and living in other parts of the state.

Lyman Whitcomb, a veteran of the 34th Iowa, during the civil war, died a few years since at the National Soldiers' Home at Leavenworth, Kansas. His son, Sherman, who resides in Nebraska, recently went to Leavenworth and had the body exhumed, brought back to Lucas county, and on Sunday re-interred in the Bethel cemetery, in Cedar township, by the side of his wife's remains. Cedar township had long been the family home.
