Miss Emma Hawkins died in her home, 1016 Parrish Avenue, at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, following a lingering illness. Miss Hawkins was cashier for the National Life and Accident Insurance Co., Evansville, Ind., for the last 30 years. She had resided in Daviess County all her life, and was a member of the Third Street Methodist Church. Surviving are three brothers, Roy Hawkins, Evansville, Ralph and Hubert Hawkins, Owensboro; two sisters, Miss Helen Hawkins and Mrs. T. T. Doriot, Owensboro, four nieces and three nephews. Hugh Hawkins, connected with the advertising department of the Messenger and Inquirer, is a nephew. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Third Street Methodist Church by the Rev. Odis J. Polley, pastor. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. The body is at James H. Davis Funeral Home, 1001 Frederica Street.
