George Oyler Dies; Helped Form Bank
George C. Oyler Jr.. 92. Biglerville R. 2. died Saturday afternoon at 4:30 at the Chambersburg hospital. He had been a patient there for five days. He had been residing in the Guilford Convalescent Home in Fayetteville since November 1976.
Born in Adams County, he was a son or George C. and Jane (Taylor) Oyler, and was one of the senior members of Trinity Lutheran Church, Arendisville.
He was a prominent fruit grower and packer in the Adams County area, where he resided practically all of his life. He was a life member of the Gettysburg Elks.
He was one of the founders of the Arendtsville National Bank and was the last survivor of its original list of stockholders.
His wife, the former Mae A. Ditzler. died in 1947.
Surviving is a daughter, Isabel J. Cupertina, of San Francisco. California: a son, Clarence G. Oyler of Orrtanna R. 1; two sisters, Mrs. Eva Miller, Carlisle and Mrs. Ellen J. Barnes, Palm Beach. Fla., and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Monahan Funeral Home, Carlisle St, with his pastor, Rev. Dr. Edgar Ziegler officiatling.
Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Arendtsville
Friends may call at the Monahan Funeral Home this evening. The Elk ritual will be presented at the funeral home this evening at 7 o'clock.
