William N. Blankenship was the third son of Cornelius and Elizabeth Ann (Lewis) Blankenship, born Russell County, Kentucky, 14 March 1858. His mother died 1861.

William N. Blankenship married Sarah Evelyn Wooldridge about 1876 in Russell, Kentucky. Four children born at Russell County, Kentucky. Tilden, November 5; 1876, Roscoe OWEN, December 20, 1883; Mary Belinda, November 4, 1878; and Elizabeth A., February 1881. The Blankenship family moved to Texas by wagon and on April 12, 1888, Mollie Taylor was born at Bells, Grayson, Texas. The family moved again, by November 1891, daughter Arazonia, born Cherokee Nation, Indian Terrritory. Lastly, William B. Blankenship born September 20, 1896, Indian Territory.

Mr. Blankenship's health was bad is why the family moved. Their goal was Wagoner, Oklahoma. The trip was cut short when William contracted typhoid fever on the trip. Leaving Sarah with a number of children. A gambler paid for burial clothes, burial and food for the family.

Second diary of Robert Murray from Jamestown, Russell, Kentucky area he documented on 24 December 1897 the following. " We hear on December 8, 1897. that William Blankenship died on the way to Indian Territory.
