"William Christopher, 81, of Brookston rural route, died at his home at 4 p.m. Wednesday, January 1, after a three-month illness. He was born in Brookston, September 1, 1876, and lived in the Brookston community all his life. He was a farmer. He married Jeannie M. Brown at Brookston on Feb. 28, 1900, and she died on January 12, 1951. He was a member of the Badger Grove Baptist church. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Mildred Murphy, of Brookston, and Mrs. Opal Sanbloom of Chalmers; a son, William Jr. of Brookston, a brother, Amos of Lafayette; a sister, Mrs. Kate Swanson of Indianapolis; nine grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. Two sons, Everett and Oran, preceded him in death. Rev. Orland Gibbons of the Badger Grove church conducted the memorial services Saturday at 1:30 a.m.[sic] at the Thompson Funeral Home. Burial was in Grand View cemetery at Lafayette."
