Father of Margretta (Bockius) Wilson (b. 1899).
Canton 'Repository' Obituary:
Fred. G. Bockius, a descendant of one of Canton's earliest families, died Wed night in Mercy Hospital after a brief illness. After being stricken, he was taken to the hospital from his home at 923 28th St NE. Mr. Bockius, who was 77, was the youngest son of Lewis V. and Caroline Graham Bockius, who resided many years in a large home just south of Mercy Hospital. His father was one of Canton's earliest and most prominent shoe merchants, and his grandfather, Valentine Bockius, was an industrialist. It was for him that the present Valentine Theater was named. A life resident of Canton, Mr. Bockius is survived by a daughter, Miss Margaretta R. Bockius of the home, and a sister, Mrs. Atlee Pomerene, widow of the former U.S. Senator. She now resides in Cleveland. Mr. Bockius' widow, Mrs. Margaretta Bockius, died in 1939. Burial will be in the Bockius family plot in Westlawn Cemetery.
