Owner of the Valentine Playhouse; president and treasurer of the Bockius-Frailey-Brant Realty company.

Massillon 'Independent' newspaper obit:
"Edward G. Bockius, 1510 Cleveland Ave., NW, owner of the Valentine Theater, was found dead by his son George H. Bockius, at 7:30 this morning in the garage in the rear of his home from the fumes of carbon monoxide gas. Mr. Bockius had gone to his garage which is constructed for the accommodation of three automobiles, an hour previously and is thought to have experienced some difficulty in starting his machine. The windows of the garage had been closed the night before because of rain, and heavy fumes of gas emitted from the machine because of faulty adjustment of the carburetor. Mr. Bockius was widely known in Canton. He was a son of the late Lewis V. Bockius, one of Canton's leading business men and manufacturers a few years ago. Mr. Bockius was a stockholder and for many years was actively connected with the Diebold Safe & Lock Co."

Father of George Hamlin Bockius (1895-1978) and
Louis Valentine Bockius (1897-1982).
