Mrs. Andrew Swenson, 85, Traill County pioneer and one of the first white persons born in the county, died Wednesday night at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kennedy.

Mrs. Swenson was born Oct. 4, 1874, at Hillsboro, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Halvor Arnegard, early Traill County pioneers.

She had lived her entire lifetime, with the exception of the last 10 years, which were spent on a farm at Westhope, ND, on a farm in Traill County. She had recently come to Grand Forks to live with her daughter.

Mrs. Swenson was a life member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church of Hillsboro and the Ladies Aid Society of the Church.

Funeral services will be conducted at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Hillsboro with the Rev. F. C. Severeide officiating, but the time has not been announced. Burial will be in Arnegard Cemetery in Hillsboro.

In addition to her daughter, Mrs. Evelyn Kennedy here, she is survived by a son, Hilman Swenson, Hillsboro; a sister, Mrs. O.P. Olson, Park River; and two brothers, Ben Arnegard, Mpls and Edward Arnegard, Redlands, CA. Her husband died in 1941.
