M . Virginia Bair, age 93, of Westminster, Maryland, went home peacefully on Saturday evening, March 28, 2009 at the Carroll Hospice Dove House in Westminster. Born February 18, 1916 in Gist, Carroll County, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late George R. and Minnie J. (Poole) Hook. She was the wife of 66 years to Sterling M. Bair. She was a member of the Westminster United Methodist Church. She enjoyed working at the Twin Kiss in Westminster, and especially loved spending time with her family. Surviving in addition to her husband are daughters, Georgia Lee Groomes and husband Russell of Westminster, Donna Eisenhart and husband Jeffrey of Hanover, PA; grandchildren, Russell E. Groomes II and wife Jenelle, and LeeAnne Groomes; great-grandson, Bradley Sterling Groomes. She was predeceased by a brother, George Milton Hook. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, on Thursday, April 2, 2009 at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis St., Westminster, Maryland with the Rev. Charles Wolfe and Rev. Richard K. Shamer co-officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Finksburg, MD.
