Visit Relatives After Many Years
Mr. & Mrs. Homer Lincoln, of Alix, Alberta Province of B.C. Canada, left there last Monday at 9am and came over the Canadian Pacific Railroad to Minneapolis, Minn., and then over the Sec. line to Chicago, thence over the Michigan Central and the New York Central, to New York city, then over the Erie to Middletown, on Saturday, 10:20 a.m., it being over 3000 miles. Mrs. Lincoln left here the first of April, 1875, and has not seen one of her people since that time.They will visit her brother and sisters and one uncle, Edw. Howe, of Otisville. They arrived at David Dunham's 133 North street, of which his wife, deceased, was a sister (Mary E. Decker Dunham)., also Lewis Decker, deceased, a brother, and James Decker, deceased.She has one brother here, Gilbert Decker, at 113 North Beacon Street, and three sisters,one a Mrs. Cath. Moore, of Westbrookville, and a Mrs. Ann Lewis, of Oakland Valley, also Mrs. Amanda Nearpass, Sparrowbush, near Port Jervis, and all these brothers and sisters, children who for the most part lived in Orange and Sullivan counties. They will remain in this section about one month, and then they will go over the New York Central from here to Batavia, N.Y. where Mr. Lincoln was born, to visit his brother, and the old homestead; then from there to Chicago, to visit another brother; thence over the same line they will return to Alix, Canada.
