According to researchers of this family, the correct spelling of the surname was MOHON. Gus, the son of P. A. and Mary Nevada, apparently used the spelling MAHON, as stated on his grave marker. It would appear that the name MAHON was used by the Arkansas branch of this family.

I am researching the ancestors of Jan Karen Mohon Klattenhoff of Hutto, Texas. She grew up knowing her last name was spelled "Mohon." The records for her ancestors understandably spell it both ways, but there are more with the "O" than there are with the "A" and as I said Jan knows for sure it is supposed to be Mohon. I hope you will be agreeable to changing the spelling on this and related memorials.
