FUNERAL RITES FOR W.T. CASEY ON TUESDAY P.M.
63-Year Old Valley Rancher Succumbs to Heart Attack Thursday, Sept. 19th
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at 3 p.m. at the Community Methodist Church for William Thomas Casey, 63-year-old Palo Verde valley rancher, who passed away late Thursday, Sept. 19, after a long illness.
Rev. R. E. Bebout, of the Church of the Nazarene officiated. Rev. and Mrs. Bebouot sang at the services, and there was a large crowd of friends and relatives of the deceased, in attendance.
Interment was at the Blythe Cemetery.
Pallbearers included Dan Dunagan, Dale Bigler, John Bradley, Ross Pennington, Claude Cox and Bill Thatcher.
The Larsen Mortuary was in charge of funeral arrangements.
Death came as a result of myocardial failure.
The deceased was born at Will Springs, Arkansas. He and his family came to Palo Verde valley 17 years ago. Except for a short period when he owned and operated a Blythe grocery store, Mr. Casey was active in farming. He owned extensive farm property here.
Surviving the deceased are his wife, Mrs. Abbey Mae Casey, one son, Lloyd Casey, both of Blythe, and four brothers and two sisters.
The brothers include J. W. Casey, of Beaumont; Monroe Casey, of Ozone, Arkansas, Gilbert Casey, of Dallas, Texas, and John Casey, of Blythe. John and J. W. Casey were able to be here for the services.
The sisters are: Mrs. Anna Cox, of Hanford, and Mrs. Tizzle Shaddock, of Harrison, Arkansas.
Mr. Casey had been in poor health health for the past 15 years, seriously so for the past three. Recently, he had undergone two major operations.
Known to all his friends as "Cap," Mr. Casey was exceptionally well liked. He was a good neighbor, and a good citizen.

Added correction: surviving sister of Harrison, Arkansas was Susan Kizzar 'Kizzie' (Casey) Shaddox.
