He married Charlotte E 'Lottie' Teeple Tuesday 20 Aug 1934 and the couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Monday 20 Aug 1984. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. He was employed by General Motors for over 30 years and retired from General Motors Willow Run in 1972.

Brady G Ijames of 3126 Montana in Flint died Tuesday 30 Oct 1984 at the age of 69 y 3 m 24 d at his home in Flint. Survivors included his wife, Charlotte of Flint; 2 sons, Robert & Mary Jane Ijames of Tampa, Florida, John & Darla Ijames of Flint, 3 daughters, Nancy & Darryl Kaufeld of Clio, Sharon Kay & Douglas Kenneth Dye of Linden, and Esther Hardy of Flint; 13 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 4 brothers, Calvin I & Betty L (Retherford) Ijames of Flint, Richard Ijames of Otisville, Danny Rudolph & Lillian Elizabeth (Gowler) Ijames of Davison, Charles & Mary Lou (Wilson) Ijames of Flint; 5 sisters, Virginia Booker of Sebring, Florida, Jewell & Clarence D Kennedy of Flushing, Minnie & Howard U Bressler of Colusa, California, Samantha (Mrs Otis) Eubanks of Burton, Mary (Mrs Donald) Alverson of Flint; nieces and nephews.

Visitation was after 7 pm Wednesday 31 Oct 1984 at Brown Funeral Home at 1616 Davison Rd in Flint. Visitation hours for the funeral home were 8 am - 10 pm daily. Funeral services were 1 pm Friday 02 Nov 1984 at Brown Funeral Home with Dr Harold E Garland and Rev Clarence D Kennedy, Brady's brother-in-law, officiating.

Burial was in Crestwood Memorial Cemetery at 2090 Hill Rd in Grand Blanc.
