With her family she moved to Flint at an early age and attended the Flint Schools graduating from Flint Central in 1941 before going to Baptist Bible Seminary in Johnson City, New York where she met her husband. She married Clarence David Kennedy Saturday 17 Jun 1944 in Flint.
Jewel Elizabeth (Ijames) Kennedy of Harrington, Maine died Monday 26 Mar 2001 at the age of 78 y 11 m 6 d at her daughter's residence in Flint Twp. Survivors included 2 brothers, Calvin Irby Ijames, Richard Ray Ijames; 2 sisters, Samantha J Eubanks, and Mary Ann Alverson. She was preceded in death by her parents, John 08 Apr 1958 & Lois 11 Sep 1982; 4 brothers, Brady G Ijames 30 Oct 1984, John Lawrence Wallace Hawks abt 1918, William Edward Ijames Dec 1968, Charles Robert Ijames 17 Feb 1996; and 2 sisters, Virginia Bell Brooker May 1994, Minnie Evelyn Bressler 21 Aug 1999.
Visitation was 7-9 pm Tuesday 27 Mar 2001 and 1-9 pm Wednesday 28 Mar 2001 at Brown Funeral Home at 1480 E Hill Rd in Flint. Funeral Services were 3 pm Thursday 29 Mar 2001 at South Baptist Church at G-4091 Van Slyke in Flint with Dr Jim Vogel, Dr Joseph H Bower and Pastor Jack Dowden officiating.
Memorial services were held in Harrington, Maine.
Burial was in Harrington, Maine.
