SHERANDO-Samuel Houston Truslow, 76, died at his home in Sherando early this morning. He was born July 17, 1888 in Lexington, the son of the late Joseph James and Roberta Taylor Truslow.
He is survived by his wife, Myrtle Hicks Truslow; 7 sons, James W. Truslow, Harry L. Truslow, Charles H. Truslow, S. H. Truslow Jr., J. Roger Truslow, all of the Waynesboro area, Lewis C. Truslow of Fishersville, and Walter N. Truslow of Eatontown, N. J.; three daughters, Mrs. Arvin (Mildred) Creef and Mrs. Nellie T. Noe, both of Waynesboro, and Mrs. Willie (Helen) Potter of Melrose, Mass.; one brother, Graham E. Truslow of Staunton; one sister, Mrs. Lee (Alma) Johnson of Lexington; also a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Mr. Truslow was a member of the Sherando Methodist Church and a charter member of the Sherando-Lyndhurst Ruritan Club.
The family will receive friends at McDow-Tyree Funeral Home from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday. The body will remain at the funeral home pending further funeral arrangements.
