MR. JOHN WILLIAM OWENS
Mr. John William Owens died at his home on Horn Harbor, Wednesday night, December 18th, after a long and painful illness. He was 91 years of age.
He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. John W. Callis, Mrs. A. F. Brooks, Miss Nannie E. Owens and Miss Fannie Owens, all of Mathews County; one son, William E. Owens, of Northampton County; one sister, Mrs. Annie Fitchett, and one brother, Mr. John H. Owens, of this county. Nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild also survive him.
Funeral services were conducted at his home on Thursday at 2:30 p.m. by the Rev. E. E. Henley. Interment was made in St. Paul's Cemetery.
The pallbearers were Messrs. George E. Owens, Willie F. Owens, J. C. Holaday, R. L. Williams, George E. Hunt and Lem Hunt.
