Funeral services for Elmer James Carpenter, 73, will be conducted Thursday afternoon, June 1, at 2:00 o'clock , in the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home, with the Rev. Mack Pinkelton officiating. Burial will be in Lynnwood Cemetery in Lynnville.
Mr. Carpenter died Tuesday night, May 30, in Giles County Hospital. He was a native of Giles County, born July 23, 1893, son of the late Henry and Anna Hendricks Carpenter. He was a retired farmer of the Aspen Hill Community.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ella Mae Carpenter; two daughters, Mrs. Floyd Banks, Giles County and Mrs. Lucile Banks, Hickman County; three sisters, Anna Murphy, Giles County, Mrs. Etta Bitticks, Tanner, Ala., and Miss Gracie Carpenter, Athens, Ala.; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
