He was killed in the auto accident on M-115 near Stone Ledge Lake in Cadillac. Survivors included his wife, Mildred; 2 daughters, Donna Mae Yager and Doris Jean Yager; his father and step-mother, Charles & Florence Catherine (Hill, Teeple) Yager; 1 brother, Charles George Yager Sr; 2 step-brothers John Robert 'Jack' Yager and Howard Milton & Almarie (Patterson) Teeple; and 5 step-sisters, Violet M & Orville L Hill, Betty June Yager, Grace May & Joseph Leonard Brownrigg, Charlotte E 'Lottie' & Brady G Ijames, and Christine Elamond 'Ella' & Max Adrian 'Mac' Gearhart. He was preceded in death by his mother Ruth 28 Aug 1936; and 1 sister, Bertha Elnora Yager 19 May 1917.
Burial was in Plot 40 in Selma Township Cemetery in Cadillac.
