1973 Apr 2 - Flint - Charles Henry Yager was born Sunday 17 May 1891 in Port Huron to Abel & Mary Elnora (Boshaw) Yeager. He married Ruth Ellen Eagy Tuesday 06 May 1916 in Flint. After her death he married Florence Catherine (Hill) Teeple Saturday 28 Jul 1923 in Flint. He had been a resident of Flint for 60 years. He became a member of the Tabernacle Corps of the Salvation Army Friday 07 Jul 1933 under the leadership of Captain A Burch where he was a teacher of the Bible Class and Corps Treasurer. He had been employed by the City of Flint for 38 years before retiring in 1958.

Charles Henry Yager of 7302 Jennings Rd in Mt Morris died Monday 2 Apr 1973 at the age of 81 y 10 m 16 d at McLaren General Hospital in Flint. Survivors included 1 son, John Robert 'Jack' & Alice (Prevost) Yager; 1 step-son, Howard & Almarie Teeple, all of Flint; 1 daughter, Violet (Mrs Orville) Hill of Cheboygan; 2 step-daughters, Christine Elamond 'Ella' (Mrs Max) Gearhart of Flint and Charlotte E 'Lottie' & Brady G Ijames of Mt Morris; 2 brothers, Theodore & Emma Louise (Hill) Yager and George Andrew & Nora Ellen (Grames) Yager; and 2 sisters, Gertrude May (Mrs William Jesse) Ramey and Delcie (Mrs Louis R) Nelson all of Cadillac; 40 grandchildren; 76 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and 1 son-in-law, Chester Wells. He was preceded in death by his parents Abel 2 Apr 1907 & Elnora 28 Aug 1936; first wife, Ruth 28 Aug 1936; second wife, Florence 13 Jan 1969; 2 sons, Charles Yager 20 Apr 1969 and Harold Yager 29 Sep 1943; 2 daughters Bertha Yager 19 May 1917, and Betty Wells 15 Aug 1972; 1 step-daughter Grace Brownrigg 06 Jan 1970; 2 son-in-laws, Orville Hill 6 May 1969, and 1 step son-in-law Max Gearhart 12 May 1969.

Visitation was 8 am-10 pm Wednesday 04 Apr 1973 at Brown Funeral Home at 1616 Davison Rd in Flint. Funeral services were 1 pm Thursday 05 Apr 1973 at the Salvation Army Tabernacle Corps at 3233 Thom St in Flint with the Captain Robert Boon and Rev Clarence Kennedy officiating. Captain Robert Boon lead the reading of the scripture and Rev Clarence Kennedy gave the funeral message. Mrs John Fay gave the tribute. Samantha Eubanks sang 'What A Friend We Have in Jesus' and 'When the Trumpet of the Lord Shall Sound'.

Burial was in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery in Flint.
