Miss Catherine Maehren Died at Meire's Grove Sunday Evening
Leaves Eleven Brothers and Sisters to mourn her untimely death.
Miss Catherine Maehren, sister of Casper Maehren of this city, died Sunday evening at the parish house at Meire's Grove after an illness of three months' duration. Death was due to quick consumption which resulted from an attack of pneumonia early in the month of May. The funeral will be held tomorrow morning at 9:00 a.m. at Meire's Grove, Rev. Martin, O.S.B. officiating.
Miss Catherine Maehren was born at Avon and has made Stearns county her home all her life. She attained the age of 28 years, and had always been in fairly good health. At the age of 17 years, she became the housekeeper for her uncle, the late Rev. Pancratius Maehren, O.S.B., with whom she stayed seven years. For the last four years, she acted as housekeeper for Rev. Martin, O.S.B., at Meire's Grove and St. Martin. she is survived by the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. John Lenartz and Nickolas Maehren of Minot ND; Werner Maehren, Mrs. Theodore Raden, Herman Maehren and Math Maehren, of Avon; Mrs. Andrew Schneider and Miss Eva Maehren of Cold Spring; Casper Maehren and Mrs. Maehren of Meire's Grove.
Catherine was born July 29, 1880 in Avon to parents Herman Maehren and Catherine Meyer. She died August 9, 1908 in Meire Grove, Stearns County and was buried at St. John's Cemetery in Meire Grove, MN.
