Obituary
Mary Cyrena Lathrop was born Aug. 24, 1843, at La Port, Ind., and died at her home in Conway, Ia., Oct. 20, 1923, aged 80 years, 1 month and 23 days.
When a small child she moved with her parents to Allen's Grove, Iowa. She was united in marriage to John P. Connor on June 7, 1866, at Davenport, Iowa. To this union was born eight children, Harry, and Mrs. Margaret Pearson of Omaha, Neb.; Robert, Charles and Daisy of Conway, Ia.; Grant of Dolan, S. Dak.; Mrs. Hattie Miller of Bedford, and Mrs. Nellie Peterson who passed away in 1910. All were present at the time of her death except one son, Grant of Dolan, S. Dak., who was unable to be present because of sickness.
Besides her children she leaves eleven grand children and one brother who resides in California and a host of friends.
In February 1876, she moved with her family to Taylor County where she resided until the time of her death. For twenty years she resided in Conway.
Her husband passed away in 1906. She united with the Methodist church when a child and was a regular church attendant as long as her health permitted. She was a kind and devoted mother and also leaves a host of friends to mourn her departure.
Funeral services were held at the home, conducted by E. B. Berst. Interment at Conway Cemetery.
