Albert Enderle, 31 years old (died August 27, 1922) son of Mr. & Mrs. John Enderle (wife Lulu Enderle). Young Enderle was hero of World War and married Miss LuLu Dumey after his return about 2½ years ago.
Ford touring car in which they were riding smashed into the railing of the Messmer Bridge about 1½ miles south of Kelso and overturned into the creek bed 18 feet below.
Miss Olivia Dumey was the driver. All four occupants were riding in the front seat of the car because the back end was full of watermelons. As they went down the hill toward the bridge a big car approached with blinding lights and the young lady was not able to see. Fords right wheel ran into a washout some 2 feet wide and 18 inches deep, which threw the car against the railings and over into the creek bed. People in the car going south did not stop, probably not knowing of the accident.
Burial at Kelso Tuesday morning, Fr. Muehlsiepen saying Requiem high mass.
