Elizabeth Bott Boese, daughter of Ludwig and Kristina Yost Bott, was born April 18, 1890, at Sutton, Filmore County, Nebraska.
Elizabeth came to Kansas with her parents in December 1900., and settled near Alexander.
She was married to John A. Boese on Feb. 15, 1915, at Alexander. To this union three daughters were born, Hulda, Margaret and Dorothy Irene, the last named preceding her mother in death in the year 1925.
After marriage the family lived on a farm near Alexander, later moving to Rozel. After several years residence there they moved to Larned where they have resided for the last 17 years.
Mrs. Boese was a member of the Methodist church in Larned. She was very active in the church during her youth, serving her church as organist for a while.
Mrs. Boese had been in poor health for the last four years and had spent ten weeks in St. Joseph Memorial hospital, where she passed away on September 9, 1952, at 2:30 p.m.
Besides her parents one daughter, one brother and two sisters preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband, John Boese of Larned, two daughters, Mrs. Emil Haberman of Larned, and Mrs. Gerald Van Eaton of Monument; grandchildren, Roger, Robert, Betty and Donald Haberman, Geraldine, Marjorie, Joyce and Steven Van Eaton; one sister, Mrs. Conrad Schwindt of LaCrosse; one brother, J.A. Bott of Alexander; many other relatives and friends.
The funeral service was held at the Beckwith mortuary, Saturday, September 13, 1952, with her pastor, W.W. Owen, officiating, and burial was in the Larned cemetery. Two songs, "In The Garden" and "The Old Rugged Cross" were sung by Mrs. Rodney Warner and Lytle Huling, Mrs. George Gibson, accompaning them.
