Mrs Lucy Clemmons Wigner, 78, of 233 Rosemont Ave., off Market Street, died Thursday at her residence following a long illness.
Mrs Wigner was a native of Brunswick County born Feb 13, 1894 and was the daughter of the late Oliver Dunbar and Melisse Arnold Clemmons. She was formerly of Bolivia and the widow of David Devore Wigner. Mrs Wigner was a member of the Bolivia Antioch Baptist Church and its oldest living member.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Thurman (Louise) Boswell and Mrs. Nancy W. Brinson both of Wilmington and Mrs. Willie (Betty) Clemmons of Bolivia; two sons, Leroy Wigner and Wilbur Wigner both of Fayetteville, a sister, Mrs. Bessie Williams of Bolivia; two brothers, Dotridge Clemmons of Long Beach and Garfield Clemmons of Wilmington; 13 grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church in Bolivia. The Rev Truitt Rogers will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The body will remain at Ward Funeral Home until 12 noon Saturday at which time it will be taken to the church to lie in state one hour prior to services.
