Rosa was the eldest of six daughters born to Johann "John" and Anna Margaretha "Katie" (Meng) Fausch. Her father passed away unexpectedly when Rosa was nine years old, so one can only imagine how she struggled with her grief while being called upon to assist with her four younger siblings.
On 22 Oct 1912, Rosa married William Gee, and to this union were born three children—Florence, Richard, and Mabel.
An excerpt from her obituary reads, "Mrs. Gee was well known in Lansing as a hard working and industrious woman, a good neighbor and kind friend, devoted to her home and her family, and the profusion of flowers at the funeral chapel gave mute testimony of the high esteem in which she was held."
